A 1788 Connecticut copper with the mailed bust left and the obverse legend misspelled CONNLC instead of CONNEC. The same CONNLC legend error appears on multiple die varieties across 1787 and 1788, suggesting either repeated use of a defective letter punch or deliberate carelessness by the die sinker.
