Description

The first Connecticut copper variety struck in 1785, featuring a male bust facing right on the obverse with the legend AUCTORI CONNEC and a seated Liberty on the reverse with ET LIB INDE. This is the most common of the three 1785 bust types and represents the earliest issues from the Company for Coining Coppers authorized by the Connecticut General Assembly in October 1785.
