Description

A 1785 Connecticut copper with the bust facing left, distinguishing it from the more common bust right issues. The obverse shows a laureate bust facing left with AUCTORI CONNEC legend. The reverse depicts a seated Liberty with shield and olive branch. Bust left coppers were produced later in 1785 and are somewhat scarcer than the bust right types.

Rarity Notes

Moderately scarce. Less common than the bust right varieties of 1785.
