1787 Immunis Columbia Eagle Reverse - Ornamented Edge Half Penny
Strike Type
Coin Details
Description
This 1787 Immunis Columbia piece with the eagle reverse has an ornamented edge. Crosby places the IMMUNIS COLUMBIA dies of 1786 and 1787 in a group of linked dies with the CONFEDERATIO and New York EXCELSIOR pieces. On the 1786 die Liberty sits on a globe holding scales; the 1787 piece pairs it with an eagle and E PLURIBUS UNUM. NGC lists the ornamented edge separately from the plain edge.
