1783 Washington & Independence - Silver Restrike Grained Edge Cent
Strike Type
Coin Details
Description
A silver restrike of the 1783 Washington & Independence cent with a grained edge. Silver restrikes are considerably rarer than copper versions and were produced as presentation pieces or for wealthy collectors. The use of silver elevates this from a circulating token to a premium collector piece. The design retains Washington's bust obverse and wreath reverse from the original copper issues.
Rarity Notes
Very rare. Silver restrikes are much scarcer than copper versions.
