Description

A restrike of the 1776 Continental Currency dollar produced by Boyd and Smith in nickel-plated brass. This is a later collector reproduction, not an original 1776 striking. Boyd and Smith created these restrikes to satisfy collector demand for Continental Currency pieces at a time when originals were already extremely expensive. The nickel plating gives the piece a silvery appearance.

Rarity Notes

Scarce restrike. Later collector reproduction by Boyd and Smith.
