2025 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-018

Description

Among the most recently cataloged Jefferson Nickel varieties, the 2025-P WDDR-018 was identified by Brian A. Ribar and displays very nice Class VIII Tilted Hub Doubling across an unusually broad range of Monticello architectural elements. The doubling appears above the center steps, on the top of the center door frame, on the tops of doors on both sides of the center door, and on the triangle above the center door. An obverse die gouge above Jefferson's right eye serves as the primary pickup point. Reverse markers include a die gouge above the IC of AMERICA, another above the right arch, and die dots above and to the left of the large semicircular window. The extensive scope of this doubling — affecting steps, door frame, flanking doors, and pediment triangle simultaneously — makes this one of the more comprehensive Monticello doubled dies in recent years. As a current-year variety, the WDDR-018 is actively available in circulation, giving collectors an immediate opportunity to search for it.
