2024 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

2024-D WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 2024-D Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. An extreme spread to the NE shows on the NE of ONE, the CE of CENT, EPU (E PLURIBUS UNUM), the B of the designer's initials LB, and the shield's second, fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth vertical stripes. Wexler also records a second, strong spread to the south at the tops of the fifth, seventh and ninth vertical stripes. On the obverse, one small gouge lies over the last 2 of the date on its right side, and another lies left of the G in GOD. On the reverse, chips sit on the shield's top left edge over the P of PLURIBUS; a small gouge lies left of the I in UNITED; and another small gouge lies left of the first A in AMERICA, near its bottom. Jessy Gozum submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
