2020 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

2020 WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 2020 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows moderate extra thickness. The Y is slightly thicker at its upper left than at its upper right, and the ERTY shows light notching at its lower right corners. On the obverse, several scratches lead NE away from the lips and chin, and gouges lie well south of the IB and well north of the BE of LIBERTY. On the reverse, several small gouges (dots) lie just right of the shield, a little north of the top of the M in UNUM; a gouge sits on top of the T in CENT; and a gouge lies under the E in STATES. Matthew R. Vallee submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
