Exhibiting a medium spread in the south-southwest direction, this VarietyVista doubled die reverse on the 2020 Philadelphia Jefferson Nickel manifests as an extra top roof on Monticello's central doorway. The south-southwest spread direction indicates the hub shifted in that compass bearing between impressions during die manufacture, and the doubling concentrated at the roofline creates a ghost image of the architectural element that is immediately apparent under low magnification. Documented in an early-to-mid die state on both obverse and reverse, the variety captures the doubling before significant wear could obscure the secondary image.
