Cataloged by the Wexler Team under reference 2020-P WDDR-017, this seventeenth doubled die reverse for the 2020-P Jefferson Nickel presents Class VIII (Tilted Hub Doubling) concentrated below the upper left portion of Monticello's center door frame above the steps — the same architectural zone that serves as the primary diagnostic area for many Jefferson Nickel DDR varieties, where the geometric precision of the door frame and its relationship to the stairway creates an ideal reference framework for detecting hub displacement. Obverse die markers include a die dot on Jefferson's right ear — a small but distinctive mark positioned on the ear's surface that provides immediate visual confirmation. The reverse carries three markers: a die gouge above the E of FIVE, die dots positioned both to the upper left and lower right of the M in MONTICELLO, and a die dot below the E of MONTICELLO. This three-position reverse marker cluster spans the lower inscription area of the reverse, providing multiple attribution checkpoints.
