2020 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse VDDR-001

Description

Medium spread northward on central banner stripes 7 and 9 identifies this 2020-D Lincoln Shield cent as VDDR-001, the primary doubled die reverse variety cataloged by VarietyVista for the Denver Mint issue. The VarietyVista designation (VDDR rather than the Wexler system's WDDR) reflects attribution through the VarietyVista cataloging framework, and the die pair carries provisional UVC and DMR markers (listed as UVC-???? and DMR-00?) indicating the full variety coding was still being finalized at the time of documentation. Three die stages are recorded: Stage A at early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B at mid-die-state where the reverse shows MDS characteristics and a light die crack appears on Lincoln's forehead, and Stage C at mid-die-state also unconfirmed.
