2020 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

2020-D WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 2020-D Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling shows above the fifth, seventh and ninth vertical stripes of the shield. Obverse markers: a gouge (dot) right of the lower part of the U in TRUST; a die flow line that leaves the upper right edge of that U and runs north to the rim; a chip on the lower part of the T in LIBERTY; a crack arcing over the top of the eyebrow, met by a perpendicular crack that runs NNW through the front of the forehead; and a tiny gouge (dot) where the upper central forehead meets the hairline. Reverse markers: a gouge at the rim over the R in AMERICA; a crack on the shield's upper edge above the LUR of PLURIBUS; a gouge (dot) on the vertical stripe above the N of CENT; and a gouge on the shield's center lower stripe.
