Description
The 2018 (P) Pictured Rocks National Park Quarter is a quarter produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 186.7 million examples, making this ranked 11th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 10% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts Chapel Rock with the iconic white pine tree atop its sandstone pillar. Pictured Rocks stretches 42 miles along Lake Superior's shore, featuring multicolored sandstone cliffs rising up to 200 feet. Pictured Rocks (MI), Apostle Islands (WI), Voyageurs (MN), Cumberland Island (GA), and Block Island (RI) were featured. The program continued with strong collector support nearing its conclusion. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition.
