Description
Part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series, the 2018 (P) Apostle Islands National Park Quarter is a quarter from the Philadelphia Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 223.2 million examples, making this ranked 14th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 12% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts the sea caves at Devils Island with a lighthouse and kayaker. Apostle Islands encompasses 21 islands on Lake Superior, featuring dramatic sea caves, historic lighthouses, and old-growth forests. Pictured Rocks (MI), Apostle Islands (WI), Voyageurs (MN), Cumberland Island (GA), and Block Island (RI) were featured. The program continued with strong collector support nearing its conclusion. Coined at the Philadelphia facility, the nation's original mint that has operated continuously since its 1792 founding. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition.
