2017 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-017

Description

2017-P WDDO-017 is a doubled die obverse on the 2017-P Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date and WE TRUST show moderate extra thickness, and the letters of LIBERTY a slight amount. Obverse markers: a small gouge left of the mint mark; a small gouge at the rim NW of the first T in TRUST; light scratches running roughly horizontally over the RTY of LIBERTY; and light scratches heading NE from the lower face and the chin. On the reverse, a small chip sits on the shield's top left, above the E of EPU, and a small gouge lies left of the U in UNITED. Cliff Reuter submitted the variety, and the updated photos and markers come from a coin of William Kerr's. CONECA lists it as 1-O-VI.
