2017 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

2017-P WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 2017-P Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show moderate extra thickness, and the Y is considerably thicker at its upper left than at its upper right. Wexler records two stages and notes no obverse markers on either. On the Stage A reverse, a chip sits on the shield's top left, above the first U of PLURIBUS. On the Stage B reverse, a chip sits on the shield's top left above the R of PLURIBUS, and a crack runs SSE from the bottom of CENT's T to a chip at the bottom of the shield. James Wright submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
