2017 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2017-P WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2017-P Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show moderate extra thickness, and the Y is considerably thicker at its upper left than at its upper right. Wexler records two stages, with the same obverse markers on both: a small gouge near the rim, right of TRUST's second T; a small gouge in the field left of the back of the head; and a very small gouge right of the 1 in the date. The Stage A reverse has no markers; on the Stage B reverse, a small chip sits on the shield's top, above the E of EPU. James Wright submitted Stage A and Leonard Matyjasik Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
