2017 VDDR VDDR-002

Description

Attributed by VarietyVista for the 2017 Philadelphia Ozark National Scenic Riverways quarter, VDDR-002 displays a strong spread appearing as an extra upper trunk on the large left tree and as an extra edge on the right side of the building in the mill scene. The Ozark Riverways reverse design depicts a stream and historic mill structure surrounded by trees, a naturalistic composition whose organic lines and architectural elements provide clear areas where hub-doubling effects become visible. VarietyVista assigned preliminary die markers for this variety, with Stage A documented in early die state and Stages B and C unconfirmed. The strong spread is particularly notable on the tree trunk, where the extra image creates a visible thickening that can be detected even at lower magnification levels. As part of the America the Beautiful quarter series, the Missouri issue celebrates the Ozark National Scenic Riverways along the Current and Jacks Fork rivers. Collectors examining this variety should focus on the upper trunk of the large left tree and the rightward edge of the building structure to confirm the doubled die effect.
