2016 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-003

Description

2016 WDDR-003 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Slight doubling is visible between the seventh and eighth vertical stripes. Obverse markers: a gouge under the 1 of the date; a gouge under the chin, above the bowtie's rightmost point; a gouge low on the front of the bust; and a gouge at the rim over the D in GOD. Reverse markers: a concentric scratch on the shield's left edge and another on its right side; a crack and chip on the shield's upper left edge; NNW/SSE scratches through the I of PLURIBUS; horizontal gouges between the UR of PLURIBUS and under its I; several gouges through UNUM; a gouge inside the O in ONE; a vertical gouge over the F in OF on its right side; and gouges right of the shield, level with the R in AMERICA.
