Error
Description
Doubling shows in the windows in the arch above the center doorway. It shows in the second, third, and fourth windows from the left in the bottom row and in the second, third, and fourth windows from the left in the second row from the bottom. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die gouge at the rim below the last R in QUARTER. Obverse Stage B: Stage A die marker still present. A light die crack can be found on the base of the bust north of the D in DOLLAR with a small die chip on the left end of the die crack. Die gouge inside the O in DOLLAR. Obverse Stage C: Stage B markers still present. Die crack progressed and die chips are larger. Another die chip on the J in the designer's initials JF. Die gouge above the bottom of the last L in DOLLAR. Die gouge between the R and I in AMERICA. Die gouge touches the lower left edge of the C in AMERICA. Reverse Stage A: Small die gouge right of the top of the left roof. Reverse Stage B: Stage A marker still present. Pre-die break depression on the left side of the building. Reverse Stage C: Stage B die gouge abraded away. Stage B depression developed into a die chip. Die chip on the top of the guard tower. Die chip at the lower right corner of the building. Retained break on the right side of the left roof. Die gouge right of the J in JOHN.
