2016 (P) Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-014

Description

2016-P WV WDDR-014 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016-P Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter (West Virginia) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling lies in the windows of the arch over the central doorway: windows 2 and 3, counting from the left, in the lowest row, and window 3 in the row second from the bottom. Obverse Stage A has no significant markers. Obverse Stage B has gouges between DOLLAR's L and A, between AMERICA's I and C, left of the bottom of AMERICA's first A, and left of the bottom of STATES' first S; Wexler says these Stage B gouges might or might not appear on earlier stages. Reverse Stage A has no significant markers. Reverse Stage B has a die chip atop the guard tower, a retained break and small chip on the left roof's right side, and a small gouge left of the bottom of FORT's F. Aaron Laramee submitted Stage A and George W. Powell, Jr. Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
