John Brown's Fort at Harpers Ferry — where the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers converge at the eastern edge of West Virginia — is depicted on this 2016 ATB Quarter, which carries a doubled die reverse cataloged under Wexler Variety ID 2016-P 25¢ WV WDDR-005. NGC credits the reverse to Thomas Hipschen and Phebe Hemphill. Doubled die reverse varieties on ATB quarters affect the unique commemorative design rather than the common Washington obverse. The ATB program operated from 2010 through 2021, issuing five designs annually through 2020 (one in 2021). Attribution requires reference to Wexler's published die photographs for each WDDR number.
