Description
2016-P WV WDDR-040 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016-P Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter (West Virginia) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling lies in the windows of the arch over the central doorway: the top of window 3, counting from the left, in the lowest row. Obverse Stage A has no significant markers; on Obverse Stage B, left of the designer's initials, a large die chip sits on the bust's base. Reverse Stage A has small gouges (dots) in windows 4 and 6, counting from the left, of the row second from the bottom, and Reverse Stage B is the same. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
