Description
2016-P WV WDDR-030 is a doubled die reverse on the 2016-P Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter (West Virginia) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling lies in the windows of the arch over the central doorway: the bottom row's fourth window from the left, with the doubling running slightly below it. Obverse markers: gouges right of LIBERTY's L, under QUARTER's A, and left of QUARTER's last R; a gouge over the P mint mark; a gouge near the head, under STATES' E; and a large gouge left of AMERICA's E. Reverse markers: a long scratch from the designer's initials TRH to JOHN's O; a gouge under the left side of JOHN's H; and a gouge over the third barrel. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
