The 2015 (P) Reverse Proof Presidential Dollar - Harry S. Truman is a proof dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. With a mintage of 16,812, this is a scarce issue β ranked 2nd of 23 mint variants by mintage, with less than 1% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The thirty-third President (1945β1953), Harry S. Truman made the momentous decision to use atomic weapons to end World War II, implemented the Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe, and led the nation into the Korean War. Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Lyndon B. Johnson were honored. The Kennedy dollar is collected alongside the Kennedy Half Dollar for a complete set spanning two denominations. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors.
