Description

The 2015 (P) Reverse Proof Presidential Dollar - Dwight D. Eisenhower is a proof dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. With a mintage of 16,744, this is a scarce issue. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year, while the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. Designed by Joseph Menna/Don Everhart. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #546160. The Presidential Dollar Program (2007-2016, continuing with deceased presidents) issued dollar coins honoring each president in chronological order. The 2007 Washington dollar "Godless Dollar" error (missing edge inscription) attracted widespread media attention. Position A and Position B edge lettering varieties are collected.
