Description

The 2015 (P) Native American Dollar - Position B is a dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint, within the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint's Philadelphia total of 2,800,000 for 2015 covers both edge orientations combined; no count exists for Position B coins alone. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, on her back; the reverse changes every year to honor a Native American contribution. The 2015 Native American Dollar pays tribute to the Kahnawake and Akwesasne Mohawk ironworkers who helped build New York City's skyscrapers. The reverse shows an ironworker reaching for an I-beam high above the cityscape. The Mohawk Ironworkers reverse honored Native American contributions to the construction industry. Coined at the Philadelphia facility, the nation's original mint that has operated continuously since its 1792 founding. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $6 depending on grade and condition. Struck in manganese brass (77% copper, 12% zinc, 7% manganese, 4% nickel) bonded to a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #542021.
