2015 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-022

Description

2015 WDDO-022 is a doubled die obverse on the 2015 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show extra thickness, with notches at the upper left of the ERTY, and the date shows extra thickness too. On the obverse, a small gouge (dot) lies SW of the I of IN, and "trails" extend SSE from the date. Reverse markers: a strong gouge south of the point halfway from the second S in STATES to the O in OF; a small gouge over the right side of the point at the top center of the shield; and a large chip on the shield's top, north of the first U in PLURIBUS. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
