Description
2015 WDDO-018 is a doubled die obverse on the 2015 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show extra thickness, with notches at the lower right of the ERTY. Obverse markers: a small gouge (dot) between the lower parts of the W and E in WE; a crack leaving the back of the eyebrow and running north into the forehead; and a crack running W/E through the hair over the forehead. Reverse markers: a small gouge below the N of ONE, on its right side; a crack that follows the shield's upper left side and reaches the E in UNITED; and a small chip at the shield's top, north of the IB in PLURIBUS. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
