2015 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-013

Description

2015 WDDO-013 is a doubled die obverse on the 2015 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show strong extra thickness, with notches at the lower left of the ERTY; the T is also notched at its upper left. On the obverse, a crack runs SSW from the W of WE, starting at its bottom right, and ends in the hair on top of the head. On the reverse, a small gouge lies south of the U in UNITED; a crack sits on the shield's top left, above the PLUR of PLURIBUS; and a chip sits on the shield's top right, above the second U in PLURIBUS. Ed Burrell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
