2015 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2015 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2015 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The letters of LIBERTY show extra thickness, with notches at the lower left of the ERTY and at the upper left of the T. Obverse markers: left of the bottom of the bust, several scratches running WNW/ESE, W/E and WSW/ENE; a small chip on the lower part of the T in LIBERTY; a SSW/NNE crack in the hair at the back of the head, high up; and a large chip in the hair over the forehead. On the reverse, a crack links the scroll, at its top right, with the second A in AMERICA, at that letter's bottom right. Steve Young submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
