2015 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2015-D WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2015-D Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The date, the mint mark and the ERTY of LIBERTY show very light doubling; it is easiest to see on the upper part of the 5 in the date and on the Y. Obverse markers: two light scratches running NE/SW above the Y of LIBERTY; a small gouge (dot) under the 1 of the date; and another small gouge (dot) centered beneath the 20. Reverse markers: along the shield's top left, above the E PL of E PLURIBUS UNUM, a crack; and on the shield's top left, north of the I in PLURIBUS, a small chip. Minka Olguin submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
