Description
The 2014 (D) Kennedy Half Dollar - Silver, 50th Anniversary Set is a half dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Kennedy Half Dollars 50th Anniversary 2014 series. The U.S. Mint produced 219,173 examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features John F. Kennedy facing left, based on the presidential medal by Gilroy Roberts and the reverse displays the Presidential Seal — a heraldic eagle with shield, olive branch, and arrows. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $35 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 11.3 grams, 30.61 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #530179.
