The 2013 (S) Proof Presidential Dollar - Woodrow Wilson is a proof dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.5 million examples, making this the lowest mintage among 20 mint variants, representing only 2% of total production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-eighth President (1913–1921), Woodrow Wilson led the nation through World War I and championed the League of Nations, for which he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. He oversaw the creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913, fundamentally reshaping American monetary policy. McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson were honored in collector-only format. The Roosevelt dollar is popular with collectors due to his role in modernizing American coin design.
