Description
The 2013 (P) Presidential Dollar - Woodrow Wilson, Position A is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 4.6 million examples, making this ranked 9th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 7% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-eighth President (1913–1921), Woodrow Wilson led the nation through World War I and championed the League of Nations, for which he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. He oversaw the creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913, fundamentally reshaping American monetary policy. McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson were honored in collector-only format. The Roosevelt dollar is popular with collectors due to his role in modernizing American coin design. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792.
