Description

On the reverse of the 2013 William McKinley Presidential Dollar, WDDR-004 reveals doubling at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from the Statue of Liberty's head and her right arm. Attributed by the Wexler Team with variety ID 2013P $1 WM WDDR-004, the obverse carries a diagnostic die gouge just northwest of the 2 in "25th" — a reference to McKinley's rank as the 25th President — while the reverse shows no significant additional markers. Position A and Position B name which way up the edge lettering runs (on Position A it reads upside down when the portrait faces up); the Mint added the lettering after striking, in random orientation, so the same die variety occurs with either.
