Description

The 2013 (P) Presidential Dollar - Theodore Roosevelt, Position A is a dollar minted at the Philadelphia Mint, within the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint struck 5.3 million 2013 (P) Theodore Roosevelt dollars in all, Position A and Position B edges together; how the total divides between the two is not recorded. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-sixth President (1901–1909), Theodore Roosevelt became the youngest person to assume the presidency at age 42 and was a champion of progressive reform, conservation, and the Panama Canal. A passionate numismatist, he personally commissioned Augustus Saint-Gaudens to redesign U.S. gold coinage. McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson were honored in collector-only format. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #517691.
