The 2013 (D) Presidential Dollar - Woodrow Wilson, Position A represents a Denver Mint issue from the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint reported 3.4 million Woodrow Wilson dollars from Denver for 2013 as a whole; no separate count of Position A edges exists. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-eighth President (1913–1921), Woodrow Wilson led the nation through World War I and championed the League of Nations, for which he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919. He oversaw the creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913, fundamentally reshaping American monetary policy. McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson were honored in collector-only format. The Denver Mint, which grew from an 1860s gold rush assay office, has served as a major production facility since 1906. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #517684.
