Description
The 2012 (P) Presidential Dollar - Grover Cleveland 24th, Position B is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 10.7 million examples, making this ranked 15th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 12% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. Serving his second non-consecutive term as the twenty-fourth President (1893–1897), Grover Cleveland is the only president counted twice in the numbering of presidencies and thus the only one honored with two separate Presidential Dollar coins. His second term was marked by the severe Panic of 1893. Arthur, Cleveland (first term), Benjamin Harrison, and Cleveland (second term) were issued. Production shifted to collector-only, ending circulation strikes. Cleveland is the only president to appear on two coins. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $6 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #512078.
