Description

Part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series, the 2012 (P) Presidential Dollar - Grover Cleveland 22nd, Position A is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint. The U.S. Mint reported 5.5 million Grover Cleveland 22nd dollars from Philadelphia for 2012 as a whole; no separate count of Position A edges exists. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The twenty-second President (1885–1889), Grover Cleveland was known as an honest reformer who vetoed more bills than all previous presidents combined. He is unique in American history as the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms, making him both the 22nd and 24th president. Arthur, Cleveland (first term), Benjamin Harrison, and Cleveland (second term) were issued. Production shifted to collector-only, ending circulation strikes. Cleveland is the only president with two Presidential dollars, one for each of his nonconsecutive terms. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #512061.
