Description

2012 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2012 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. LIBERTY shows extra thickness, most of all on the ERTY. Obverse markers: a light scratch going north from the B in LIBERTY, at its top; light scratches going north and NNW from the Y, at its top left; and parallel scratches running SE from the bowtie through the 20 of the date. Reverse markers: an almost horizontal scratch through the middle of the A in STATES; a crack along the top of the shield on its left side; and a chip on the shield's top, north of the L in PLURIBUS. Craig Simpson submitted the variety. Its Coppercoins number is 2012P-1DO-001.
