2011 (S)(W) Silver Eagle - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001

Description

2011 WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 2011 American Silver Eagle, cataloged by the Wexler team. Extra thickness shows on LIBERTY, the date, IN GOD WE TRUST, the stars, and the upper rays of the sun, along their lower parts. The gown's bottom, the lower right ray and the outermost letters of the motto IN GOD WE TRUST show a spread toward the center. Both sides are early die states (EDS) with no significant markers. Mark Alvarez submitted the variety, and CONECA lists it as 1-O-VI. Wexler notes the coin turned up in one of the special 25th Anniversary Sets, which were issued late in the year.
