Description

The 2011 (P) Native American Dollar - Position B, Weak Edge Lettering is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint struck 29.4 million 2011 (P) Native American dollars in all, across both edge positions; weakly lettered Position B coins are an unrecorded part of that total. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, on her back; the reverse changes every year to honor a Native American contribution. The 2011 Native American Dollar commemorates the 1621 peace treaty between Plymouth Colony settlers and the Wampanoag Confederacy. The reverse shows hands at either end of a ceremonial peace pipe. Coined at the Philadelphia facility, the nation's original mint that has operated continuously since its 1792 founding. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $6 depending on grade and condition.
