Description

Combining two distinct error types on a single coin, this 2008-P Andrew Jackson Presidential Dollar pairs the WDDR-001 reverse doubling with a Doubled Edge Lettering Overlap — an additional error where the incused edge inscriptions were applied twice, creating overlapping text around the coin's edge. The reverse doubling appears at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from the head and the right arm on Don Everhart II's Statue of Liberty design, identical to the Position A and Position B counterparts. The doubled edge lettering is an independent error: during the separate operation that applied the date, mintmark, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and IN GOD WE TRUST to the rim, the mechanism struck twice, producing overlapping impressions. This dual-error status makes the Doubled Edge Lettering Overlap variant notable among the three WDDR-001 entries — it documents two manufacturing anomalies from two separate production stages. No significant die markers have been noted on either side. Attributed by the Wexler Team, this Philadelphia Mint regular strike was produced in manganese brass clad composition.
