Description

Fifth Wexler-cataloged doubled die reverse for the 2008 Denver Mint New Mexico Statehood Quarter, WDDR-005 shows doubling on the lower left side of the third ray from the left in the southward-pointing rays of the Zia Sun symbol. The Zia Sun — a circular symbol with four groups of four rays extending in each cardinal direction — features sixteen individual rays, and this variety's doubling affects a single ray within the southwest quadrant of the design.
