Description

A stronger companion to DDR-028 on the same 2007-P Wyoming State Quarter design, DDR-052 displays a strong spread between the first and second tuft of the bucking horse's mane. The greater displacement distinguishes this variety from DDR-028, which shows only medium separation in the same area. Die markers are cataloged as UVC-1844 and DMR-055. The die progression includes Stage A with reverse and obverse in early die state, Stage B at mid-die state (unconfirmed), and Stage C at late die state (unconfirmed). Wyoming's bucking bronco design, sculpted by Norman E. Nemeth, carries detailed relief in the horse's mane that responds well to hub doubling — each tuft of hair acts as a natural gauge for measuring the degree of spread between impressions.
