2007 (P) Wyoming State Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse DDR-040

Description

Appearing on the Wyoming State Quarter — featuring the iconic Bucking Horse and Rider — this DDR-040 presents medium spread on the first two tufts of the horse's mane. The mane's flowing strands, rendered in dynamic relief to convey the energy of the bucking motion, translate hub displacement into visible secondary impressions shadowing the primary tuft outlines. A light die depression on the back of the horse's tail provides a secondary attribution marker, while the obverse is documented in early to mid die state. Cataloged by VarietyVista as UVC-1789 and DMR-043, this variety captures doubling on a kinetic design in the fifty-state quarter program — a design Governor Dave Freudenthal chose from finalists drawn from public submissions. The Bucking Horse and Rider had served as Wyoming's symbol on license plates for decades before appearing on the 2007 quarter, and doubled die varieties on this design are sought by collectors combining state quarter and variety attribution.
