2007 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-014

Description

Attributed to the George Washington Presidential Dollar, this fourteenth Wexler-cataloged doubled die reverse shows minor doubling at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from the Statue of Liberty's head and the statue's right arm. Die markers on the reverse include a small die gouge (appearing as a dot) to the right of the first T in STATES and another die gouge south of the seventh ray emanating from the torch. The obverse is noted as EDS (Early Die State) with no significant markers. The cross-reference field lists no known alternative attributions beyond the Wexler Variety ID: 2007-P $1 GW WDDR-014. The Presidential Dollar series, launched in 2007 with George Washington, introduced the Statue of Liberty reverse designed by Don Everhart that became the common reverse for all Presidential Dollars.
