2007 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-001
ErrorDescription
Holding the primary Wexler DDO position for the 2007-P Roosevelt Dime, WDDO-001 delivers strong extra thickness on IN GOD WE TRUST, designer John R. Sinnock's initials JS at Roosevelt's neck truncation, the date, and the P mintmark. The strong classification indicates clearly thickened strokes and edges detectable at relatively low magnification — noticeably broader design elements compared to an undoubled specimen. Photographs were provided by Ken Potter, the distinguished numismatic researcher whose detailed imaging has contributed to documenting hundreds of die varieties across U.S. coinage. The involvement of the P mintmark is noteworthy: post-1980 Roosevelt Dimes carry a small P on the obverse, and strong extra thickness on this feature aids quick visual screening before confirming the doubling on IGWT, JS, and the date. The 2007-P was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in copper-nickel clad composition. No cross-references beyond the Wexler designation are known. Target JS and the date under 5x magnification, where strong extra thickness produces the most accessible visual confirmation.
